The Guild

The Guild of Research Intensive Universities (The Guild) aims to strengthen the memeber universities' voice in questions regarding research and education at EU level. This is achieved through a close and constructive dialogue with decision-makers within the European Union.

Uppsala University's role in the network

Uppsala University uses the network to keep up with and participate in policy development at EU level. The vice-chancellor and deputy vice-chancellor are representatives in the Guild's overall steering groups. In addition, the university is represented in a dozen working groups with expertise in monitoring various aspects of policy development at EU level. The reason for this is that the EU increasingly influences the conditions of its universities' activities.
