Matariki

The Matariki Network, which is named after the Māori name for the constellation known as the Pleiades star cluster, is a university network with seven members worldwide. The member universities are all among the oldest and most highly respected in their countries. The network's motto is "Partnership for a better world" and it includes collaborations within all areas of activity of the universities.

Staff opportunities

Employees at Uppsala University can apply for funds for:

  • travelling to develop cooperation within research and education.
  • to organise workshops.
  • a research stay of up to six months at one of the member universities within Matariki Fellows, the purpose of which is to increase the number of research contacts and strengthen international collaborations.
  • to collaborate internationally on the basis of a project of their own choosing for senior administrative managers.

Current opportunities

Matariki Engagement Grant

The Matariki Engagement Grant is an opportunity for senior administrative managers to be able to collaborate internationally based on a project of their own choosing. The network pays out 2,500 GBP (approx. 34,000 SEK) to the applicant, funds that can for example go to job shadowing or joint activities of some kind.
