Write your teaching portfolio

For you who will apply for a new position or promotion in academia.

A teaching portfolio is a compilation of your teaching qualifications. The teaching portfolio is to be included when you apply for a new position or promotion in academia. This is a way of assessing the teaching expertise.

The Unit for Teaching and Learning is now providing recurring activities for support in the writing of your teaching portfolio. This first occasion will be about the content in a teaching portfolio.

Step 1: What is to be included in a teaching portfolio?

  • Example of content in a teaching portfolio
  • How to present your teaching philosophy
  • The assessment of teaching qualities – what is good to know?

This workshop is aimed towards teachers or other personnel at Uppsala university who would like to write their teaching portfolio or develop further the one they already have started on.

Feedback on your teaching portfolio

For you who will apply for a new position, promotion or the title of Excellent Teacher.

Day and time: 23/5, kl. 13.00-16.00

Location: Campus Blåsenhus, venue to be announced later

A teaching portfolio is a compilation of your teaching qualifications. The teaching portfolio is to be included when you apply for a new position or promotion in academia, and for the title of Excellent Teacher. This is a way of assessing the teaching expertise.

The Unit for Teaching and Learning is now providing recurring activities for support in the writing of your teaching portfolio. This second occasion is for you who wish to have feedback on a draft of your teaching portfolio.

Step 2: Teaching portfolio development

  • General feedback on the teaching portfolio aimed at all participants
  • Reading of teaching portfolios from other participants
  • Mutual feedback within collaborative groups
  • Individual feedback on teaching portfolios from the workshop leaders
  • Discussion on the assessment of teaching qualifications.

This workshop is aimed towards teachers or other personnel at Uppsala university who would like to further develop their teaching portfolio.

Language: English, with possibility to use Swedish during discussions and collaborative work in groups.

Important!
In order for your notification to be valid, you will need to sending a draft on your teaching portfolio. Send it to helena.lindqvist@uu.se no later than the 15th of May. In the email, indicate which position that you intend to use the portfolio for, e.g., appointment as docent or promotion to associate professor.
