The Hugo Valentin Lecture 2001-2002: Saul Friedländer

The first annual Hugo Valentin Memorial Lecture is given by Professor Saul Friedländer, University of California, Los Angeles. The lecture is entitled Mass Murder and the German Society in the Third Reich: Interpretations and Dilemmas.

Professor Friedländer is one of the world's foremost researchers on the Holocaust, a MacArthur Fellow and the author of several key works on Nazi policy and the murder of Europe's Jews. In 1999, the first volume of The Third Reich and the Jews was published in Swedish.
