Transfer of credits for part of a course

Transfer of credits for part of a course refers to the possibility of not having to read part of a course because you already have the corresponding knowledge from previous studies. Decisions on credit transfers for part of a course are made by the teacher who is the examiner for the course.

What is mainly tested in an application for transfer of credit is whether the education is at the equivalent Swedish university level, the scope of the studies as well as the content.

Those who wish to apply for transfer of credits for part of a course must support their application with an officially issued transcript of grades for the education they wish to take credit for, showing the name and scope of the course and the grade awarded, as well as a syllabus and bibliography showing the content and level of the education. Additional descriptions may be required in some cases.

Only those who are students (admitted to and registered on a course or programme) at Uppsala University can be considered for transfer of credits.

NOTE that decisions on credit transfers for courses as part of a general degree (whole courses) are made by the Student Affairs and Academic Registry Division, by delegation from the Vice-Chancellor. You apply directly to the Student Registry Unit at the Student Affairs and Academic Registry Division.
