The EuroCC National Competence Centre Sweden (ENCCS) will specifically support academic, governmental, SME and industrialusage of EuroHPC, in particular to facilitate, aid and promote researchers to use high-end resources beyond what is available nationally, but also to provide relevant training and support to close the skills gap to enable more researchers to make use of the computing and data-handling resources made possible as part of the LUMI consortium. The Swedish NCC will develop dedicated user support tracks for academia (focused on high-end HPC usage) and industry/SME (focused on usage enablement), but with large parts of training activities. ENCCS will be implemented separately from (but in close collaboration with) the existing national infrastructure, with dedicated management responsible for operations that will be focused at a single existing compute centre, with industrial/SME support at RISE.ENCCS will liaise with the Centers-of-Excellence to invest in L3-L4 support for research group willing to invest own resources in software development to port codes to the environment provided by LUMI, in particular for areas where Sweden already has a leading role, but also to broaden the user base and ensure uptake by SMEs, governmental organizations and large industry, e.g. in fields related to AI and data analytics.
