This proposal deals with a joint experiment-theory collaboration to explore the complex properties of the interfaces of oxide heterostructures (e.g., double perovskites) with an aim in the fundamental understanding and designing of novel and exotic properties at nanoscale. The experimental part of synthesis and characterization (with a high relevance to MAXIV and ESS large facilities in Sweden) of properties will be complemented by sophisticated theoretical methods. We will study the structural, electronic, magnetic and topological properties of the interfaces by considering electron-correlation, complex magnetic structures and spin-orbit coupling. Not only the static properties but the dynamical phenomena, such as magnetization dynamics and formation of skyrmions at the interfaces will be studied using state-of-the-art simulation techniques. The power and uniqueness of the constellation is built up on (i) joint theory-experiment effort to understand complexities at the atomic and electronic scale, (ii) complimentary expertise of experimental characterization techniques in the Indian and Swedish side, (iii) a strong theoretical support using ab-initio methodologies of several levels of sophistication, (iv) a gender-balanced team of researchers with a combination of senior and young personnel, (v) a new research initiative utilizing the vast experience originating from a long-standing research collaboration between the Indian and the Swedish institutions.
