Name of the conference: Current Trends in Multifunctional Dirac Materials, an International Workshop. In Swedish: Aktuella trender i  multifunktionella Dirac materialer, en internationel workshop. The workshop is planned to be held at the Ångström Lab, Uppsala University. The preliminary dates are from the 14th to the 16th of May, 2017. The motivation is to create a forum in Sweden to discuss the most recent progresses as well as give an overview over the basic features of Dirac materials. The focus will be the functionalization of Dirac materials which is particularly interesting in light of possible future applications in molecular spintronics. This is an emerging topic of research still largely unexplored that requiresfundamental as well as applied research. Dirac materials are a novel phase of matter with unique quantumproperties with huge application potentials in emerging fields like spintronics and quantum computing. The goal of the workshop is to bring together swedish scientists with leading experts from Europe andoverseas in the theoretical as well as experimental research, in order to debate and open up for new ideasand collaborations (panel discussion). The intention is to make Sweden a key actor in this new and promisingfield, which has started to attract attention. An important aspect will be to introduce younger scientists to thisemerging field. The workshop will include one keynote lecture, invited and contributing talks as well as aposter session.
