Styra finanser i Europa: Nya regimer och skiftande makt
Tidsperiod: 2015-11-01 till 2015-11-30
Projektledare: Adrienne Héritier
Bidragstyp: Internationellt samarbete
Budget: 195 000 SEK
The recent changes in EU financial and economic governance have brought a maze of new legislation and institutional arrangements, the effects of which are of a daunting complexity. It is the objective of the planned conference to identify the new regimes and the implications - for both law and policy - of the most important measures. How effective have these measures been in tackling the problems of the financial crisis and the Eurozone crisis? Which are their regulatory and institutional implications? Have these changes led to a shift of power between different actors, from legislative to executive, judicial or technocratic actors; or perhaps from private to public actors? Have they led to a shift of power within institutions or across levels, the national, European and international? What do the new regimes mean for democratic and legal accountability and indeed the overall architecture of the EU and the direction in which it is developing? The planned international conference will bring together a number of experts from different disciplines, primarily political science, law and economics who are conducting research on financial and economic regulation in Europe. The conference will be organized as a two-day conference at the Uppsala University Law Faculty. The applicant was granted the 2015 Kerstin Hasselgren Visiting Professorship at Uppsala University with the objective to conduct interdisciplinary research on the regulation of financial markets in Europe.
