I hereby apply for the FAS travel grant to participate at the coming SRCD Biennial Meeting to be held in Denver, Colorado, April 2-4, 2009. At this international conference, I am to present, a poster titled: “The development of disruptive behavior problems: A longitudinal study with cross-lagged effects” which is based on research I have conducted at the Erasmus MC, during by postdoctoral stay supported by FAS (ref. nr: 2007-1963). My poster submission is accepted and is to be presented on Thursday, April 2nd. This conference is arranged by the Society for Research on Child Development (SRCD), which is a multidisciplinary, non-profit, professional association of researchers, practitioners, and human development professionals from over 50 countries. The purposes of the Society are to promote multidisciplinary research in the field of human development, to foster the exchange of information among scientists and other professionals of various disciplines, and to encourage applications of research findings. This is the largest conference on developmental science with over 5.000 international visitors. Presentation formats include paper and poster symposia and also roundtable discussions. The conference attracts well- renowned researchers from around the world and is therefore an excellent forum for presenting research findings, for meeting researchers in scientific fields related to one’s own, and finally, for getting updated with the state-of-the-art in research on developmental science.
