The master's programme is given jointly with Ghent University, Belgium and TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany. Semester 1 is studied at Ghent University, semester 2 at Uppsala University and the summer semester at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. Semesters 3 and 4 are studied at one of the partner universities.

Level/Depth is given with the abbreviations:

G2F - First cycle, has at least 60 credits in first-cycle courses as entry requirements

A1N - Second cycle, has only first-cycle courses as entry requirements, at least 120 credits

A1F - Second cycle, has second-cycle courses as entry requirements

A2E - Second cycle, degree project for Master of Arts/Master of Science (120 credits)

Main field of study is indicated according to the following abbreviations:

HU = Sustainable Development

GV = Earth Science

TB = Applied Biotechnology

T= Technology

I = Industrial Engineering and Management.

Level/Depth and Main field of study refers to the classification done by Uppsala University, also for courses provided by other universities.
