Walpurgis in Uppsala

The 30th of April, Walpurgis Eve – referred to as ‘Sista april’ or ‘Valborg’ in Swedish – is the celebration of spring arriving in Sweden that you can’t miss. And the celebrations at Uppsala University are truly extra special. You will experience student floats running the Fyris River, herring lunches, the donning of the caps at Carolina Rediviva, parties and much more. See the beginners guide to Walpurgis Eve.

This year, however, the traditional Walpurgis Eve celebrations in Uppsala were cancelled due to the pandemic. We hope that we can celebrate next year, 2022!
