Uppsala student designated 2018 “IT woman of the year”

Emma Tysk, a student at Uppsala University, is this year's winner of Microsoft's “IT woman of the year” award.

The winner was announced at the Universum Awards in Stockholm. Emma Tysk is the sixteenth person to receive the award. By being awarded the prize, she will also become an ambassador for Microsoft. Emma is doing a Master of Science in IT engineering. 


“With a strong drive, genuine commitment and contagious energy, she is already an enthusiast and passionate missionary as regards IT and technology issues among young girls. She is passionate about attracting more women to the tech industry and establishing long-term strategies to retain the talented women who find their way there. It is with great pleasure that Microsoft, for the 16th time, announces this year’s IT-woman of the year and Microsoft is looking forward to doing great things together with this year’s winner, Emma Tysk.”
