Hydrogen

At Uppsala University there is research on various ways of producing hydrogen, whether by electrolysis or by means of reactions directly driven by solar energy in biological or artificial systems. There is also research on fuel cells, storage of hydrogen in metal hydrides and research on how hydrogen moves in various materials and how it influences the qualities of materials.

The University also has special infrastructure and expertise for measuring hydrogen in materials using ion- and neutron-based techniques. Other techniques used in the research are materials theory computations, and laser-based and X-ray-based techniques.
