International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP)

The International Continental Scientific Drilling Program (ICDP) is an international drilling consortium in which Sweden participates. The ICDP is an international programme of land-based deep drilling that explores structures, processes in the bedrock and geological evolution of our planet – issues directly linked to themes of societal relevance, such as sustainable geosources, climate and natural hazards.

The Council for Research Infrastructures (RFI) funds this research infrastructure, which the Swedish Research Council considers to be in the national interest.
