The European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC)
The European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC) provides access to nearly 50 marine field stations in some ten countries, and offers a wide range of services to support both basic and applied research on marine organisms and ecosystems.
EMBRC-SE is the Swedish part of the infrastructure, the core of which consists of 13 field stations distributed along almost the entire Swedish coastline. These provide researchers and companies with access to marine organisms and ecosystems, as well as facilities and technical platforms to study them. The infrastructure enables researchers in a wide range of fields to increase their knowledge of human impacts on the oceans, which in turn helps us to act in an informed way, for the sustainable use of marine resources. The Swedish part also provides access to the international infrastructure EMBRC, which consists of nearly 60 European field stations in some 10 countries.
The University of Gothenburg serves as the host of EMBRC-SE, and the other participants are Uppsala University, Stockholm University, Umeå University, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute and Linnaeus University.
