European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine (EATRIS-ERIC)

The European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine (EATRIS-ERIC) is a European research infrastructure aimed at accelerating the development of new pharmaceutical treatments, diagnostic tools and other medical products. EATRIS-ERIC consists of a consortium of 14 member countries with more than 100 academic centres in Europe. Sweden has participated as a node through the European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine Sweden (EATRIS-ERIC) since 2015.

EATRIS-ERIC makes research infrastructure and expertise available in five focus areas: biomarkers, cell and gene therapy, medical imaging, small molecules and vaccines. It supports interdisciplinary collaborations in medical research by bringing together researchers, the pharmaceutical industry and academic research centres. It can also offer the support of a multi-disciplinary team throughout the development process from proof-of-concept to clinical trials, mentoring programmes, training sessions and application support for researchers.

The Council for Research Infrastructures (RFI) funds this research infrastructure, which the Swedish Research Council considers to be in the national interest.
