Study and career counselling
Do you need someone to bounce ideas off or help getting started with your application? Are you interested in studying in Uppsala but wonder about your future career options? As a student at Uppsala university you are entitled to support and guidance from our study and career counsellors – before, during and after your studies.
The counsellors can provide you with information about university courses and offer counselling about studies, work and the labour market. They can even set up an individual study plan in cases needed.
Whether you have questions about specific courses, university rules, admission requirements or graduation rules, or questions of a more general nature, the counsellor is a professional who will help you get further.
A counselling session may touch on many areas of life. Therefore, it is important to know that the counsellor is bound to professional secrecy with regard to your personal circumstances.
Study counsellors for courses and programmes
Each department has a study counsellor whose task is to answer questions related to specific courses or programmes of study given by their department. They can even set up an individual study plan in cases needed. You can find the study counsellor of the department at the webpage for each Bachelor’s programme, Master’s programme or freestanding course.
General study and career counsellors
If you have questions and concerns regarding studies and career in general, you can turn to the general study and career counsellors at the university. You can visit them during drop-in hours or book an appointment. You can also book an appointment that is held via Zoom, on the phone or during a “walk and talk”. A walk and talk conversation is a conversation that takes place during a walk in central Uppsala.
