Biografi

Denna text finns inte på svenska, därför visas den engelska versionen.

I hold a PhD from Uppsala University (2012) and an MA from the University of East Anglia (2000). Between 2014 and 2023 I was employed as Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor of English at Linköping University. I joined the English Department at Uppsala University in August 2023.

My research investigates surrealist art and literature, gender and feminist theory, contemporary women’s writing, and representations of female desire. I have published extensively on the work of Angela Carter, Leonora Carrington, Dorothea Tanning, Leonor Fini, and Xavière Gauthier. My current research project (funded by the Swedish Research Council, 2019-2022, and Riksbankens Jubileumsfond, 2023) examines the intersection between surrealist women’s art and writing and the emergence of French poststructuralist/psychoanalytic feminist theories in the 1970s.

I am Reviews Editor for The International Journal of Surrealism (University of Minnesota Press), Program Chair of the International Society for the Study of Surrealism (ISSS), an editorial board member of the research network and journal Intersec+ions (Cardiff University), and an advisory board member of the Angela Carter Society (UWE, Bristol). Between 2018-2020 I served a three-year term as author of the section ‘Feminisms’ for the annual journal The Year’s Work in Critical and Cultural Theory (Oxford University Press).
